86 Good Days in Tacoma: Greek Fest

A flickr friend was kind enough to share some pictures of this past weekend's Greek Festival at St. Nicholas Church. I usually try not to blog about things I haven't tried myself, but since I moved here three years ago many people have told me the Greek Festival is one of the highlights of their year.

I spoke with one of the organizers when I was writing their calendar entry, and she told me their pastries are so popular they make more than they think they could sell every year, and usually sell out by Friday night.

The festival features your choice of chicken, fish, or lamb dinner, the aforementioned popular pastries, and folk dancing throughout its three-day run. It takes place annually in early October, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on the border of hilltop and downtown Tacoma.

Did you go to the Greek Festival? Share your impressions with us in the comments and I'll include them in this entry.
