7 Positive Life Affirmations To Change Your Life

Have you been struggling with your life as it is today?

Do you dread waking up in the morning, just to get up, go to work, hit the gym and come home? Do you feel tired all the time? Maybe you’ve been plagued by thoughts like “I just can’t do this.” or “Things will never change!” It’s completely understandable and may seem unavoidable to have negative thoughts like these but the good news is that it doesn’t have to be your internal soundtrack for the rest of your life! Maybe you need some practical life affirmations!

Positive thinking has been used in cognitive behavioral therapy and treatment for depression and mental illness for many years and while it may seem impossible to entirely rewire your thinking and it may seem hopeless that your life will ever change, by introducing positive life affirmations and the power of positive thought into your life, you can truly make a huge difference on your outlook and situation.

The important thing when making life affirmations is to change your language. Always speak in the present tense, as though it’s something you already believe to be true, even if you’re not sure. Avoid the use of negative words like can’t, shouldn’t, won’t.

It’s difficult for your brain to be able to turn them into positives. Also, avoid words like should, could, would. They’re vague and leave room for interpretation. Instead, focus on words like can, will, and am. If you repeat them enough, they become part of your inner monologue.

Here are some positive life affirmations for you to try repeating to yourself in the morning before you start your day. It may seem strange at first but eventually, you’ll rewire your brain to believe these things as truth and you can begin to make changes in your life!

I am Worthy of Fulfillment

It can be difficult to feel like you deserve to have the fulfilled, soul-quenching life of your dreams. It can be even harder to convince yourself that feeling good about your life is something you’re worthy of.

By repeating this life-affirmation, you will remind yourself that you deserve to have a beautiful life and will be more inclined to work towards it.

I Choose What Happens in My Life

Our lives can feel out of control sometimes and that’s a hard pill to swallow. While we may not be able to control things like vet bills and car breakdowns, we can absolutely control how we react to them and how we respond. We can choose to act or react and by using this affirmation, you can make your actions intentional.

I Wake up Happy and Grateful for My Blessings

Sometimes it’s hard to see the forest through all the trees but each and every one of us have blessings in our life, whether or not it’s the ones we think we need or want.

There was a time when all you wanted was a space of your own, but you find yourself upset that your apartment isn’t bigger. There was a time when you wanted children but didn’t anticipate how difficult it would be.

Remembering to be grateful for everything you have that you’ve wanted can remind you that all things are possible with the power of hard work and positive thinking.

I Have the Ability to Shape My Day

You may feel like a slave to a schedule and if you work a 9-5 job, that may be partially true. However, there are hours in the day when you’re not on someone else’s timeline and you have the power to make the most out of those hours.

Instead of coming home and crashing on the couch to binge-watch a show or scrolling through social media, you can choose instead to fit in a workout or clean your kitchen or work on a new creative project. You are in control of your time.

I am full of energy

You may feel exhausted, worn down and unhappy. That’s natural. You do have the power to remind yourself however that you are full of life, excitement, and gumption. You can finish that essay. You can get through that upper body workout. You can finish that painting. You’ve got this.

My Life is Full of Joy and Love

When you’re in the trenches of a difficult time, it may feel next to impossible to feel joyful. You may feel lonely. Most of us are not truly alone and do actually have love in our lives, whether that’s family members, friends, a partner or a special pet.

If you do not have any of those, the power of positive thinking may help you to bring at least one of those into your life. People who are full of joy attract other joyful people, while negativity breeds negativity.

Every day I Wake up is Full of Possibilities and Potential

Each day is a fresh start with so much potential. You can do anything with it. Sign up for a 5k. Adopt a dog. Sign up for a gym membership. Each day has the ability to bring change and movement with it.

You are not stuck and you don’t have to do the same thing over and over. The human brain is wired to be stimulated by new experiences, so step out of your comfort zone, even if it’s just having Taco Tuesday on a Saturday!

Every day you have a choice. You can continue spinning like a hamster on a wheel, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Alternatively, you can choose to change. By harnessing the power of positive thought and introducing affirmations to your life, you have the ability to create real, lasting change.

It’s not hard, it will only take a moment of your time and if you try it every day for a month and don’t see a change, then you’ve lost nothing. Try repeating these life affirmations to yourself in the morning and see what happens. You may find yourself surprised by the changes you can bring to your life!
